I was born and raised in Los Angeles and spent most of my adult life there, until recently. Growing in up in Southern California in the 80’s/90’s with parents who were hippies turned Jehovah's Witnesses had a huge impact on the way I learned to view the world, and ultimately how I view art. Attending college was never a realistic option, so my early attempts at art were very DIY/ guerrilla. It wasn’t until my late twenties that I finally attended college where I studied oil painting and eventually received my BA from California State University, Los Angeles. It was there that I was first introduced to the magic of ceramics, and have been dancing with the devil ever since. The contrasting duality of my upbringing plays a huge role in my art process, and the rebellious punk rock attitude of my adolescence is an inescapable part of who I am as an artist. I am currently living and working in Portland, Oregon.
