The Marionettist

Zelyss has grown up among pencils, paint tubes and paper, with her mind filled with fairytales. Noone in her family was artistically oriented, and she was never encouraged to pursue a career in art, but she has always been a firm believer of the saying: 'the world is your oyster'.

She has worked in commerce and is running her own business on another field till today, but her passion for art and creativity has outgrown her through the years, and her creatures demanded to come to life. She is completely self-taught and always seeking new tecniques to use on her creations.

The materials she uses are variant. She is a lover of acrylics for their vibrancy and speed, but also uses oils, quache, watercolor, graphite, colored pencils, charcoal and glitters for her paintings and sketches.

For her sculptures, her favorite material is paper and clay, and the hidden message inside every little creature is one: 'recycle and love our planet'. That's why inside the core of her sculptures there are always materials like rocks, plastic bottles, old cds, packing equipment, or old fabrics.
