Wanderlust is an international group exhibition inspired by travel, far-away places, adventurous experiences and fascinating destinations. Participating artists were given identical postcards and asked to create a unique piece for the show inspired by the theme “wanderlust”. Travel via boat, plane, foot, and yes, even jellyfish to your favorite destination in this eclectic and imaginative exhibition!
Lioba Brückner was born 1988 and grew up in Oberhausen, Germany, a town in the Ruhr Valley, a large urban area. She has been drawing all sorts of animals and monsters since childhood.
While the subjects didn't change very much, she now creates atmospherical worlds full of fantasy creatures, seductive women and fairytales in a realistic manner. The motifes are often covered in plants and destroyed by dripping oil colour and translucent layers. Her influences are vast and range from contemporary and old masters to the fascination for nature while admiring everything that comes from Japan and science-fiction movies.
Lioba Brückner studied under Markus Lüpertz and received her diploma at the academy of arts in Düsseldorf 2012. She exhibits nationally and internationally. She lives and works in Oberhausen, Germany.
