Jane Lee, a.k.a. Messy Desk, is an illustrator and comic artist based in Hong Kong. After receiving her higher diploma in Graphic Information Design at the Hong Kong Design Institute in 2010, she flew to Paris to join the “Discovery Scholarship” Program by the Institut d’Études Supérieures des Arts in 2011. It is thanks to her special bond with France that her illustrations recall the style of the European bandes dessinées. Populated by natural elements and colourful humanised animals, each work of the artist delineates an extremely detailed, dense and explosive narrative, a labyrinth of exciting stories, full of charming little treasures hidden in sight and awaiting to be discovered by the viewer. Messy Desks was also invited by Na Edition to attend one of the biggest comics Festival, where she received an award as an up-and-coming comic artist. Her unique style was recognised by the French art magazine Get Freaky and it has been exhibited in France, in the United States, in the United Kingdom, Germany and elsewhere in Europe since 2009
