Wanderlust is an international group exhibition inspired by travel, far-away places, adventurous experiences and fascinating destinations. Participating artists were given identical postcards and asked to create a unique piece for the show inspired by the theme “wanderlust”. Travel via boat, plane, foot, and yes, even jellyfish to your favorite destination in this eclectic and imaginative exhibition!
Patrushka grew up in Southern California and spent many hours cocooned in her room – stereo blasting, drawing and coloring. Early artistic influences were book illustrations, record album covers, comics and TV. Later, the art books of MC Escher, Waterhouse, R. Crumb, Max Ernst and Salvador Dali captivated her. Working in almost all media, from collage to painting, she’s created an eclectic array of images. Fascinated with the yin and yang of life, the skull beneath the smile, the dark within the light, the good as well as the bad. Politics, music, pop culture, emotions, science, the human face and our natural world are constant inspirations.
