Raul D'Mauries is an Oakland-based self taught artist and musician. Born and raised in Mexico City.
He works predominantly in acrylics.
He is influenced by surrealism, Ancient mythologies, as well as wildlife animals, dark art and all weird things.
He has always been intrigued by the works of writers such as Edgar Allan Poe and H.P Lovecraft among many others .
These influences show clearly in his work in many different shapes and forms, and that way he's able to create his anthropomorphic, dark , tender, weird creatures.
