The portraits of Soey Milk express a serene femininity, rich with color and symbolism. Evoking the ethereal and erotic paintings of Gustav Klimt, Milk’s photorealistic figures melt into ambiguous textural backgrounds that she enhances with glitter, fabric, and flower petals. In addition to her mixed-media paintings, Milk creates meticulous graphite drawings—notably seen on the cover art for John Mayer’s album The Search for Everything (2017). Her works have been exhibited in the U.S. and abroad, and she has been featured in publications such as Beautiful Bizarre and American Art Collector. Milk earned her BFA from the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, and mentors in the MFA Program at Laguna College of Art and Design.
