J.L. King, is a second generation San Francisco native, Chinese-African American, born from artist parents and raised with a strong reverence for the arts. Her childhood memories of her large multiracial family, the strong scent of oil paints, turpentine, and the theater walls within San Francisco’s City College Campus have left long lasting impressions. Jennifer pursued a career in health and science while maintaining her creative practice in different mediums before committing her focus to oil painting. Sharp-focus detail is a lifelong endeavor that she pursues to this day. She practices her art out of her studio in the South Of Market neighborhood in San Francisco, California.
