We are excited to present our September group exhibition, Harvest. This exhibition delves into diverse representations of fruit and vegetables in art. Throughout history, artists have depicted fruit and vegetables in various forms, transcending into works that carry symbolic meanings associated with abundance, fertility, and temptation.
Participating artists were encouraged to explore examples such as the pomegranate, symbolizing life and regeneration in ancient Greek mythology; the apple, signifying knowledge and temptation in the biblical story of Adam and Eve; or the artichoke, which has been used to represent hope, peace, and even nobility in different contexts. Creating evocative artwork that captures these powerful symbols and the enigmatic meanings surrounding fruits and vegetables in art. This exhibition will incorporate many media with a focus on figurative works, illustration and narrative works, still life, and sculptural works.
